GPCoC Salute to Business & Community - Big Band Dinner Dance

Time: 6:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Event Description
Every year the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce honors a Citizen of the Year, and a Business Leader of the Year. In the past the event has been a conservative affair, deliciously catered, but held on a week night in a small venue, and typically sold out.
This year the event is even MORE of a celebration! Saturday night, March 19th, The Bedford Big Band is joining this community fete at the Peterborough Town House, and Four Star Catering will provide its usual wonderful meal.
The Citizen of the Year, John Vance, and the Business Leader of the Year, Tom Strickland will be honored for their valuable contributions to the Greater Peterborough Community, and we will all enjoy the top-notch meal, convivial company and joyful dancing.
As an added feature this year, we will be honoring Mr. Clifton Foote of Francestown, N.H., as Employee of the (20th) Century. Mr. Foote has been employed by Noone Mill for 62 years, and indeed recalls seeing famous Peterborough citizen and mill owner Major A. Erland Goyette come through the mill wearing his usual white gloves -- which he occasionally used to check for dust on the Venetian blinds.
Mr. Foote's award will be presented by Jim Grant, while Jim Callahan, Esq., will be honoring John Vance and Tom Strickland will be introduced by Dr. David Flemming.
